LIFESAVING SERVICES

Surf Life Saving NSW is the largest surf rescue organisation in Australia.  The Surf Life Saving NSW Emergency Management Framework comprises of 129 Surf Life Saving Clubs, over 30 Jet Ski Rescue Services, four Offshore Rescue boats, Helicopter Services, SurfCom communication rooms, Duty Officers, Lifeguard Services and a series of beach management services all working with State and Local Government to provide the safest beaches possible.

SLSNSW provides a total service plan in order to prevent and save lives 24/7. Lifeguard Services are primarily based in daylight hours midweek, Lifesavers on the weekend and most of the other services are patrolling all hours of the day and available throughout the night.

All personnel are trained under the Australian Qualifications Framework through the Public Safety Training Package. With high levels of training, almost 100 years experience and close liaison with other emergency service bodies, the beach and its safety is in good hands.
