SPORT AND RECREATION -
LIFESAVING GRANTS
The purpose of this grant is to provide clubs and branches with full or partial assistance ($4$) towards the purchase of operational lifesaving equipment.
Applications must be submitted to Branch by 8 October 2010. Branches must forward prioritised applications to SLSNSW by 22 October, 2010.

BETTER FUTURES STRATEGY – ENHANCEMENT PACKAGE
Better Futures is a New South Wales government prevention and early intervention initiative to improve support and services for children and young people aged 9 to 18 years.
The Better Futures enhancement announced in the 2010-11 Budget provides additional funding for eligible community groups in areas of high need. Groups can apply for grants of up to $50,000 to:
Upgrade facilities, equipment and resources; and/or
Develop or expand programs that encourage the engagement and participation of young people.
Community organisations and local councils can apply for one-off grants, in areas of high need, that support local community programs that engage young people in activities that help build social, communication and leadership skills.

MULTICULTURAL WOMEN'S SPORT LEADERS PROGRAM
What: A free comprehensive training program for women who would like to become more involved in local sporting clubs or community organisations which focus on sport and physical activity.
When: Three days – Friday 22 October, Saturday 23 October and Saturday 30 October 2010, 9.00am-5.00pm
Where: Sport and Recreation, 6 Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park
Who is eligible to apply? Women who are:
* Of a multicultural background
* Aged 18 years and over on 17 September, 2010
* Permanent residents of NSW
* Currently involved as a volunteer or paid employee in a sporting club or community organisation which has a focus on sport, recreation and physical activity. |
