Description Umina Beach SLSC Established 1958
Good access is provided the length of Ocean-Umina beach, with a large car park next to the surf clubs, and a caravan park occupying the lee of the western end of Umina Beach.
The beach starts at Wagstaff Point a sandy spit that separates it from the estuarine Ettalong Beach. The waves initially increase slightly in size from Ocean Beach to average less than 1m, then decrease into the western corner, where the beach turns to face east. Along this section the bars remain low and wide, but rips are more common and stronger when the waves are breaking.
