Established 1923
Catherine Hill Bay lies just off the highway, though the southern access is not signposted, as it remains a private coal road. The northern road access is marked. The beach is backed by two coal communities, the northern Middle Camp and southern Catherine Hill Bay, which also has the pub. Parking and good access to the beach is available in the north next to the cemetery, and in the south next to the road and surf club.
