Volunteers

People often express a desire to get involved and help us out, but don’t have the financial means to make a donation. There is nothing more valuable that a person can give than their time.  Day of Difference strives to achieve our goals while keeping costs down by relying on the generosity of volunteers. We’ve listed some of the different capacities in which people can volunteer and you will see that the investment of time does vary. 

Event Volunteers
Volunteers able to work at general Day of Difference events, often on weekends or evenings

Event Committee Volunteers
Volunteers able to commit to assist with the organization of specific events, including tasks such as planning volunteer strategy for large Day of Difference events, helping to find reliable volunteers for the events and assisting Event Manager with any event issues – i.e. procurement of prizes, etc.

Fundraising Volunteers
Volunteers that would like to do small scale fundraising such as school initiatives, street stalls, garage sales, street parties, etc.

Office Volunteers
Volunteers that are able to come into our office on set days every week to assist with such tasks as answering the phones, data entry or other general office assistance

Specialist Volunteers
Volunteer with specialised skills, that would like to assist with specific tasks such as research, networking, lobbying their employer for support, etc. 

Educational Volunteers
Volunteers who are trained by Foundation staff to be able to speak about Day of Difference and possibly represent the Foundation by discussing safety and ‘Acceptance’ issues upon request at schools or local community functions
